Police arrested Nikolas Cruz, 19, aformer Douglas student, in connection with the shootings. An AR-15 rifle was recovered near the scene. Jim Lewis, an attorney representing a family that took Cruz into its home after Cruz’s adoptive mother died in November,said the teen purchased the weapon legally.
